Father's Day Weekend

Friday night we started Father's Day weekend off with a bang and went bowling with Marc and Anna at the Oak Harbor hotspot, Oak Bowl. We managed to get three games in two hours and Anna and I even tied the last game (79 baby!). We were also "lucky" enough to get lane 13, on Friday the 13th.

On Saturday morning, Brian and I went to breakfast with his dad, Mike, and his girlfriend Carolyn. We enjoyed some great island food and wonderful company at the Bayview Bistro. Prior to breakfast, we went and saw the new puppy that Mike bought. She is a German Shorthair, is only two weeks old and has seven other puppy siblings; she's not quite old enough to leave her mom yet, he will get to take her home in about four weeks. The puppies were SO cute. It made me want to take one home!!

While Brian stayed with his dad to play catch, Halo, and do other guy things, my mom and I went to a memorial service for a family friend of ours that past away on May 30th. Her name was Jessica Danielle Goheen Thorn. Jessica and I played together when we were little; she was only 23 and died in a car accident only nine short days after she had moved to Texas to start a life with her new husband. It is such a tragedy and our hearts go out to her family and friends. She will be terribly missed. Below is a recent picture of Jessica - she was truly beautiful.

After the memorial service, we came home and had a fun family dinner with all of the Tesch's. The memorial really reminded us how much we need to cherish the time we have with one another and to make sure you say "I love you" whenever you can. Life can be too short; you just never know.

We enjoyed some sunshine in the late afternoon - me and my brothers, a picture of Grace and I (she just lost her first tooth!) Audrey learning how to walk, and Marc giving Audrey her first drums lesson (she liked it, but was unsure about all the noise!)!

After dinner we had fun playing with Nikki's hair extensions (she had a photo shoot earlier in the day and came straight to my parents house still in full hair and make up - needless to say, when she took her "extra" hair out, we had to have some fun with it).

And some other cute pictures from the weekend:

After the party was over, we were cleaning up and discovered some notes that Grace had handwritten and placed in the bathroom. Here are the notes we found:

"Plese fulush the toylit. Thank you."
"Plese turn off the lite."

Everyone needs a reminder sometimes. And she is very polite. :)

On Sunday, we went to church, ate some pizza, packed up and headed over to Big Lake for our first boating excursion of the season. Brian wake boarded like a champ...he did not skip a beat from last summer. Ahh, I love the lake.
