December

The month of December is one of my favorite months because we get to spend so much time focusing on the things in life that are important. We spend quality time with family and friends, we spend hours searching for the perfect present to bless someone special with, we enjoy wonderful food and (for the most part) people are in a festive and happy spirit. We are also reminded during this time of the birth of Jesus and how that changed that world. And then, at the end of it all, we get to ring in a new year and feel hope and excitement for what the next year might bring.

In December we not only celebrate Christmas and New Year's, but we also have several important birthday's. Happy early birthday to Becky/Mom (on the 23rd), Meghan (on the 26th), and Dad, Uncle Dwight and Arielle (on the 31st)!

The gemstone of December is turquoise and the flower is the narcissus. The Christmas plant is a poinsettia though, and we celebrate Poinsettia Day on December 12th.

Enjoy the rest of 2008 and have a very happy and safe holiday season!
